Um (One)

Ao segundo dia, enojado como estava, vomitei sem alegria para dentro de um saco de plástico todas as refeições ali recebidas. Olharam-me com estranheza, não com indiferença. Como poderia eu, um simples viajante de segunda classe, neste luxurioso navio, ter vomitado as iguarias que me ofereceram na classe superior. De soslaio acabaram por se calar. Não dei ouvidos aos rumores e fiz o meu percurso de saco de plástico na mão contendo o vomitado. E assim, saudei amarelo o mar e lancei-lhe o meu estômago vazio.

On the second day, sickened as I was, I threw up unhappy into a plastic bag all the meals I'd been offered there. They look at me with awkwardness, showing no indifference. How could a mere second-class traveler, in this luxurious vessel have vomited the delicacies which were offered to him in first-class? With an askance attitude they became silent. I didn´t listen to rumours and made my way handling the plastic bag containing the vomit. Then, pallid, I salluted the sea and dumped in it my empty stomach.
